Village Manager

Appointed by the Mayor and Board of Trustees, Mary Beth Murphy has been serving the residents of Hastings-on-Hudson as Village Manager since 2019. She brings to Hastings extensive knowledge and experience in public service as former Executive Director of the Westchester County Tax Commission, and former Supervisor for the Town of Somers. Manager Murphy received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.  She has served in numerous capacities for various municipal organizations and associations.

Manager Murphy is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of the Village and is responsible for the daily operations of the Village and its personnel.  She is directly responsible to the Mayor and Board of Trustees, provides them with background information and recommendations on Village affairs, and performs additional duties as may be required by the Board of Trustees.  The Village Manager is responsible for implementing the policies created and approved by the Village Board of Trustees.  She proposes an annual budget to the Board and manages the implementation of the budget once it is adopted.
