Adopt-a-Spot Program

Adopt-a-Spot is a Village-Public partnership. It allows individuals or groups to adopt a traffic island, adjacent roadway or section of public park and officially care for it.

At minimum, caring for a location includes tending plants and periodic litter removal. Some locations provide the opportunity to install a garden plan of your own design. Others may be existing gardens that require maintenance, or existing gardens that require maintenance and can also be renovated or expanded.

For questions or assistance, email the Adopt-a-Spot Coordinator at adoptaspot@hastingsgov.org.

Adopters can choose from the Village’s list of approved Spots or suggest a Spot of their own. Read the Adopt-a-Spot Guidebook to learn more.
