Hello Everyone,
 
The weather is getting warmer and warmer, and we even had two informal lunches at MacEachron Park.  Like last month, people are getting out, and the trips filled up quickly again in May.
 
We have more exciting things planned this month.  They include:
1. Trip to the Bruce Museum in Greenwich - June 9, 2023
2. a re-scheduled trip to Boscobel House and Garden -  June 16, 2023
3. Trip to Wave Hill in Riverdale, N.Y. - June 20, 2023 
4. Ice Cream Social. June 22, 2023 American Legion - 215 Farragut Ave.
The dates are listed on the calendar and the details are on the fliers. You must sign up ahead of time for these programs.

On June 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th, at 1:00 p.m., we will get together at MacEachron Park on the waterfront for lunch.  Just bring lunch and a chair and socialize with your friends and make new friends. 
 
1. News From Westchester County-Wonderful Help for those who Qualify 
“Aging in Place Home Repair Program”-Westchester County Habitat for Humanity and Westchester Residential Opportunities are now accepting applications for this program.  Westchester residents must be at least 62 years old, own their own home and meet eligibility guidelines.  Possible repairs include modifications like grab bars, lighting, porch repair and external accessibility assistance not to exceed $5,000.  For more information visit: https://habitatnycwc.org/aging-in-place/ or email to: mailto:Aginginplace@habitatnycwc.org or call (914) 240-7003.   
 
2.  Are You Missing Out On Cost Saving Programs
Extra Help with Prescription Drug Coverage-The Medicare Part D Extra Help Program (sometimes called the (Low-Income Subsidy or LIS) helps pay for your Medicare drug coverage.  If you get Extra Help, your monthly premium will be lower or free, and you’ll pay less at the pharmacy. 
Call the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services Medicare Information Line at (914) 813-6100, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and speak with one of the trained counselors to see if you qualify for any of these benefit programs.
 
3. Save on Medicare Premiums
The Medicare Savings programs help pay for your monthly Part B Premium.
Also, get information on Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) to help with utility costs; SNAP (nutrition assistance); EPIC (NYS Prescription Assistance Program); SSI (Supplemental Security Income).

a.  “Care 2U-Urgent Care at Home”-9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. daily.  Technicians come to your home to perform assessment, plus advise from emergency medicine physicians.  Go to Care2u.com or 833-433-CARE.
 
b.  “Silver Bells Free Bill Management Program”-Are you a caregiver to a senior that would like one less task?  Or are you getting confused paying your bills?  The Yonkers Office for the Aging and Sliver Bells now offer a free Bill management Program.  You are provided with your own dedicated account manager who will work with you over the phone to help you organize your bills and make sure the are paid correctly.  All fees for this service will be waived for one year.  Call (914) 377-6823 if interested.     
 
“A Presentation in Recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day”
Thursday, June 15th from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Social Service experts and attorneys will guide you on possible warning signs of abuse, and where to ask for help for yourself or someone else.
