The Youth Services Department is hiring
for the following part-time positions:
Junior Youth Aide for the Youth Advocate Program
Position Description:
- Responsible for monitoring the youth at the community center
- Ensuring that rules are followed
- Assist with homework
- Lead group activities
- Prepare light snacks
- Must have the ability to follow both written and oral instructions
- Must be able to effectively communicate with youth and adults
- Other duties as assigned by Program Director
- Compensation will range between $15-18, based on experience
Requirements:
- Must have at least 3 years of experience working with youth OR a minimum of 60 college credits
Youth Leader for the Hastings WAY Coalition
Position Description:
- Use of innovative outreach strategies to develop and attract members to a middle school substance misuse prevention group
- Ability to provide training to youth on various prevention programs & topics
- Assist with the development of Youth Leadership training materials, presentations, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials
- Assist with the preparation of statistical and narrative reports
- Create and upload content to The WAY’s website and social media pages
- Assist the Program Director and Coalition Coordinator with other tasks as needed
- This is a contracted position, compensation will be based on experience
Requirements:
- A minimum 60 college credits with a concentration of courses in the behavioral sciences
- 1-2 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities; prevention or community involvement experience
