Volunteer this summer for Hillside Woods!

Volunteer this Summer with the Hillside Woods Restoration Project

Get outside and do some good! Open to adults and kids. Students can gain service hours or construct internships through the project. Here's what's going on:
  • Help survey invasive trees! Learn more on our Zoom call this Tuesday, June 30th at 7pm (register here; check your email for confirmation and meeting link). Session will also be recorded. No experience necessary; we train!
  • Remove invasive shrubs and plants - contact us for more info; please do not cut vines or remove shrubs in Hillside Woods on your own.
  • Rehab trails - tba. Contact us for more info.
Be a Good Woods Citizen - other things you can do

  • Keep yourself and your dog on trails, and dogs on leash, as feet and paws trample new growth and disrupt nesting wildlife.
  • Clean up after your dog. The nitrogen in dog poop alters soil chemistry and favors invasive plants.
  • Do not ride bikes in the woods; they rip up the trails.
  • Learn more!

By adopting these habits, you will protect the delicate ecosystems in the woods that our community is working to restore.
