Village of Hastings-on-Hudson Manager, Mary Beth Murphy: Chemka Pool Update - July,11, 2022

HOH SEAL
CHEMKA POOL UPDATE
JULY 11, 2022

The Village published a second request for bids for the pool restoration work and held a site inspection for interested contractors on June 21, 2022. Two bids were received on July 7, 2022. The bids are currently under review by the Villages Aquatic Engineer and staff.  It is anticipated that the Board of Trustees will make a bid award to the lowest responsible bidder at the July 26, 2022 Board of Trustees Special Meeting.

Thereafter necessary documentation will be provided by the contractor, contracts will be signed, and the contractor will order materials.  The Village’s Aquatic Engineer has submitted and reviewed the necessary paperwork for the Construction/Modification of Swimming Pool Permit with the Westchester County Department of Health and expects the final approval by Mid-August. Demolition and electric work may start immediately after the Village award. I anticipate work starting in the early fall and will provide regular updates as to timing and progress for the Village.

All the Staff recognize the void the loss of use of the pool this summer has created in family fun and are committed to making sure the project proceeds expeditiously and creates no doubt that the next pool season will be wonderful.

,
Very truly yours,
