UPDATE: Ravensdale Bridge

The Temporary Bridge is now being assembled on the west ramp and NYSDOT’s general contractor, ECCO III has begun pushing it eastwards over the Saw Mill River Parkway:

The yellow crane at the rear is assembling the pieces of the bridge which come like parts of an Erector Set:

The Bridge rests on rollers which ease the effort to push it eastwards—a green roller can be seen in the foreground to the lower right just under the Bridge:

Two more pairs of rollers support the Bridge further westward:

It will be cantilevered all the way over the Saw Mill Parkway until ECCO III lands it on the two temporary piers they have constructed east of the Parkway on top of the piles they drove around the existing sewer line:

ECCO III will then continue pushing it eastwards until they land it upon the eastern ramp:

A few updates to the schedule, and we will post exact dates as they approach:

Starting this Summer:

August: Completion of the Temporary Bridge and Traffic Lane Shift
October: Demolition of the Existing Bridge
December: Completion of the Shared Use Path to the South County Trailway

Next Year, 2021:

May: Completion of Bridge Substructure
June: Completion of Bridge Superstructure, Utilities, Roadway and Approaches & Opening of New Ravensdale Bridge to Traffic
August: Removal of the Temporary Bridge
October: Completion of Roadway Reconstruction and Landscaping
