Talking Trash

The Conservation Commission hopes you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during the coronavirus pandemic.

During this time, we thank our community for its continued commitment to sustainability. We've put together a series of informational Zoom meetings (see below) to keep our focus on the environment and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.

Our first Zoom meeting will focus on trash. As we spend more time at home, household waste has increased in many communities.
Join Hastings' Zero Waste Advisory Taskforce's coordinator Elisa Zazzera for this community conversation.

All your questions answered!
Recycling - what goes where? Hold up your question-mark items on our video call!
Food Scraps - compost in your backyard or bring your scraps to our DPW. Curbside pickup may be coming to your neighborhood soon!
Household Hazardous Waste - what to do with CFLs, batteries, chemicals, etc.

Trash - our trash is incinerated in Peekskill. What is its impact? How does our waste stream impact climate change?

TUNE IN: This Friday, April 17th, 4:30pm
