Effective Friday, April 17, Metro-North Employees and Customers Required to Wear Face Masks or Coverings
Posted on: April 17, 2020 - 2:27pm
Effective Friday, April 17, 2020, Metro-North employees and customers traveling on Metro-North Railroad in New York state are required to wear face masks or coverings. This change is pursuant to the April 15 Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo executive order requiring anyone traveling in public who cannot social distance to wear a face covering unless they cannot medically tolerate it. Connecticut customers are also urged to wear a face covering during this time.
Please remember to practice social distancing in stations and on platforms, use all open doors to board your train, and sit as far as possible from other customers after boarding the train. This change will help to ensure a safe environment for essential workers riding with us.
Please stay home and only travel if you absolutely need to. Train service is for essential personnel only.
