CORRECTED: DOWNTOWN ADVOCATE UPDATE REGARDING LOCAL BUSINESSES

Dear Hastings Community,

 

On Sunday, March 22nd Governor Cuomo's "New York State on PAUSE" executive order went into effect temporarily closing many of our downtown businesses, including most retail shops and many of our service businesses. Nevertheless, many are still either open for business because they meet the state guidelines for "essential" businesses or they have applied to the state and been designated as such. 

 

Nevertheless, many of those who have had to close their physical doors can still be supported via online shopping and/or their business owners who are offering curbside pickup and are willing to deliver or ship their goods and gift certificates directly to you. Please take a few moments to look through the list below which highlights how you can support and engage with downtown businesses that are still operating during this time, as well as an updated list beneath that one of local food & beverage businesses which includes our supermarket, food markets, restaurants, pharmacy and more. Also listed are ways that you can offer financial support to local families in need (Family-to-Family), as well as your talents for emergency workers who need masks (Hastings Sewing Studio and the HoH Mask Project).  

 

Lastly, please be aware that our downtown professional offices (realtors, insurance agents, lawyers, designers, architects et al) are working remotely and can still be reached. In addition, Citibank and Chase have ATMs for use and Chase offers a drive up window for banking in their parking lot.
