Hastings-on-Hudson School District Budget Vote & Board Election Results

This email is being sent to the mailing list for informational purposes as it represents an issue of potentially broad interest to the community.

Dear Hastings Community,

We'd like to share the results of yesterday's voting.

The budget passed with 997 votes to approve and 209 against.

Votes cast for the three trustee seats up for election were:

  • Timothy Baer              785
  • Christina Mitchell         674
  • Jodie Meyer                657
  • Lauren Berman           551
  • Rob McQueen             530

So the three candidates with the most votes - Tim, Christina, and Jodie - will fill the seats. Please note that of the three seats, two are for the typical three-year term. As the candidates with the two highest vote tallies, Tim and Christina will take up these three-year terms, which will run from July 2017 through June 2020. The third seat is the one left vacant when Lindsey Hicks stepped down from the board this past August - and which the board last fall had appointed Tim to fill until the election. As the person with the third highest vote count, Jodie will now fill that third seat and complete the remainder of Lindsey's term, which ends June 30, 2018.

Thank you to everyone who came out to vote. Your participation in the process, your support of our schools, and the willingness of the candidates to volunteer for this board is much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Members of the Board of Education
