Village Property Taxes
The Village of Hastings-on-Hudson collects annual Village property taxes in two installments. One bill is mailed out for the year by May 31. The first installment is due by June 30 without penalty, unless the last day of the month falls on a weekend. This tax would then be due on the first business day of July. The second installment is due by December 31 without penalty, unless the last day of the month falls on a weekend. This tax would then be due on the first business day of January. Checks are payable to the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson, and mailed to the address found on the front of the tax bill. You may also pay in person at the Municipal Building, 7 Maple Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706. Payment may also be made online HERE. If you have an escrow account your bank usually remits the payment.
The Town of Greenburgh is responsible for collecting Town/County and School taxes for Village residents. Please see the link on the lefthand side of the page.

Late Payment - Can Your Penalty Be Waived?
As per New York State Law, the Village cannot waive penalty fees. The following reasons for late payment are common examples which are NOT sufficient for the Village to waive penalties and these requests will be denied:
- I did not receive a tax bill.
- I forgot.
- I was out of the Village or country.
- I have paid on time in the past for many years and think I should not be penalized this time.
- My bank did not make the payment until after the deadline.
- I thought my mortgage company was going to pay.
- I used a private postal meter machine, such as Pitney Bowes.
- I don't open my mail.
