Things You Can Do:
- Walk or bicycle when possible. Great health benefits!
- Use mass transit. Westchester has a well-developed bus system. Fewer cars on our roads means less traffic and cleaner air.
- Bee-Line Bus System for bus service around Westchester County. Note: you can use your NYC MetroCard on the Bee-Line with free-transfer to NYC MTA.
- Metro-North Railroad for service into NYC. Hastings is on the Hudson Line.
- If you can't use mass transit, carpool when you can, especially to children’s events – your kids will love it!
- If you drive, DO NOT idle your gas engine. In Westchester, you must shut off your engine when parked. Hastings' idling law allows for one minute maximum of idling time.
