This week's volunteer opportunities in Hillside Woods and Hastings Parks

Dear Hastings Resident,
The habitat restoration of Hillside Woods has officially begun!
You're invited to join the Vine Squad in some hands-on plant wrangling.

The Vine Squad will begin by working with Parks & Rec in pulling up privet, an asiatic shrub that has colonized a large area of the woods in "Stand 3." Learn to identify this and other plants by attending a session. No experience necessary: the Vine Squad will train.

Meet at the corner of
Edgewood Avenue and Taft Street
Friday, December 13th, 9:30a-11:30a
Please rsvp to conservationcommission@hastingsgov.org. Questions welcomed.
Wear sturdy shoes and clothes and bring work gloves if you have a pair.
Shovels are also helpful for this activity if you can bring one. Loppers and some shovels will be provided.
Future weekend dates TBA.

In addition!
The Vine Squad will work to remove invasive vines in
Draper Park
Saturday, December 14th, 10am-noon
