Village Manager Mary Beth Murphy's update on the Main St. and Warburton Ave. Paving Project August 5, 2022 Update
Main St. and Warburton Ave. Paving Project August 5 2022 Update
The Contractor will pour the last slabs of the sidewalk on Main Street in front of Slices on Monday, August 8 and intends to begin work on Warburton Avenue that afternoon. They will start at the southern end, near the Main St. intersection and work north. Businesses have been informed and as previously noted access to all businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. The demolition and reconstruction of the sidewalks will continue to be done in small tranches of 70 to 100 feet to reduce disturbance in the downtown.
Also, to allow construction equipment access and keep traffic flowing in two directions, parking will be prohibited from 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday of next week in the first 6 spaces, from #544 Warburton to Main Street, on the east side of Warburton.
This photo shows a 4 x 6 foot tree pit into which a tree will be planted in the fall when the weather is more suitable for tree planting.
As previously stated these tree pits are larger than the previous tree pits and designed to better accommodate a healthy growing environment for trees. The trees will be placed in planting soil then mulched with 3 “ of mulch below the grade of the sidewalk. There will be 4 inches of air space between the mulch and the tree grate and pavers installed on the grate will allow for airflow, water infiltration and walkability.
Caulking will be inserted in the spaces between the building and the sidewalk and the curb and the sidewalk as shown here.
