UPDATE: Ravensdale Bridge - June 13, 2021

On May 13, 2021, Ecco III poured the concrete deck for the Ravensdale Bridge. It had to be done in a continuous pour so there are no joints.

Here’s a view from the west end showing the poured concrete covered in burlap (it needed to be kept moist for 14 days). Note concrete pump, middle left:

More than half poured:

Here’s a view from the east end. The green steel reinforcing rebar (“reinforcing bar”) is yet to be covered. Note concrete pump extending over bridge:

As of June 5, the entire roadbed had been poured, as well as the sidewalks on top.  The green rebar turned up at the right will reinforce the parapet walls.  Between the rebar and the plywood formwork, Styrofoam forms can be seen that will leave the false arch impressions in the face of the parapet walls:

Here is a closer view of the Styrofoam formwork as well as the beginnings of the rebar cage to support a lamp post—electrical conduit can be seen snaking up:

Here is completed formwork with a rebar cage to support a lamp post--the three vertical wood strips at the back of the cage will be vertical ornamental indents in the final concrete pour, and the green rectangle to the left is protection over an access panel to the electrical box:
