STORM AFTERMATH UPDATE
SEPTEMBER 3, 2021 at 9AM

HASTINGS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS:
Due to the ravages of Tropical Storm IDA to the DPW garage and surrounding area the DPW area needs debris and sediment removal and cleaning to be made safe for residents to drop off  food scraps and recycling.  Needless to say DPW efforts are focused on other areas of the Village at this time in the immediate aftermath of the storm.
Accordingly, please DO NOT bring RECYCLING or FOOD SCRAPS to the DPW at this time.  We will let you know when the area is re-opened for these purposes.
In the expectation that residents will have  garbage from flooding in their own homes, the DPW will have available a Garbage truck on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 8 AM to 12PM so residents may drop off garbage.

ALSO please note  changes in next weeks schedule for the Labor Day Holiday:
No Garbage Pickup Monday, September 6
Monday pickup on Tuesday, September  7
Tuesday pickup on Wednesday, September 8 (No Yard Waste Pick-up)

ALL paper, junk mail, and cardboard will be picked up on THURSDAYS.
ALL commingled cans, glass and plastics (coded 1-7) will be picked up on FRIDAYS
