Mayor's Message: Our Very Lovely Local Heroes - Covid-19 Acts of Kindness #16 April 25, 2020

Mayor
Hi everyone,

Fire Chief Lindner sent me an email to say that the Fire Department has created a new initiative to lighten people’s spirits.  Since those of us (especially kids) who have birthdays during the pandemic can’t really celebrate in person with the people we love, the Fire Department will bring birthday wishes to all of us instead.  Every Saturday between 2 and 3 pm the Fire Department will drive by a designated set of houses, beep the horns and send out wishes.  For this afternoon, here is the list:

95 Pinecrest Parkway
59 Tompkins Ave
23 Jordan Road
Hudson Street & Broadway
25 South Calumet
23 Oakdale Drive
216 Villard Ave
10 Euclid Ave
Riverview Place & Broadway
37 Mount Hope
4 Glenn Place
11 Clinton Ave

The Chief says that other people are welcome to come out but please remember to keep physically separated and to wear masks! Moving forward if you have a birthday to celebrate please email Chief Lindner at jlindner@hastingsgov.org and let him know – he’ll work out how to include everyone.

Many of you are finding creative ways to thank our first responders – here are some images from around town of ways you’re doing that. Thanks to all of you!!
