DUE TO STRONG FRONTAL SYSTEM THAT IS TO PASS THROUGH OUR AREA THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EDT FRIDAY & WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT FRIDAY
A strong frontal system will approach the region late today with its associated cold front crossing the area tonight. This system will bring strong to locally damaging winds, and a period of heavy rain, and possibly embedded thunderstorms, tonight. Minor shoreline impacts are also likely. Much colder air moves in for Friday night with below freezing temperatures for a portion of the area.
Tonight: Showers likely before 1am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 1am and 4am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Low around 48. Breezy, with a south wind 17 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 57. West wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

- Keep extra batteries in the house for flashlights, radios, etc.
- If you have a power outage we do not recommend using candles. However, if you do, make sure to keep the flames away from any combustible materials.
- Check on your neighbors, especially those that may be elderly, disabled or housebound.
- DO NOT go out in the storm if you do not have to.
- Report all emergencies to 911.
