Zero Waste Advisory Taskforce

ZWAT is a volunteer subcommittee of the Conservation Commission that works to reduce Hastings' waste generation and improve waste diversion rates through offering reuse, recycling and composting options for – and community education around – post-consumer resources. We worked with the Village to set up the food scraps drop at our DPW yard and the TILI (Take It or Leave It) garage at Andrus on Hudson. ZWAT helps run Hastings annual Riverkeeper Sweep waterfront cleanup and is working on other initiatives as well. See the ZWAT Website for up-to-date information on ZWAT activities.
