General Information

General Information for the 2024 Summer Camp Season

Registration
Registration will begin Monday April 1st, all registrations must be done IN-PERSON at the James Harmon Community Center, 44 Main Street, Hastings-on-Hudson.

Camp Location
The Hastings Day Camp will be held at the Hillside Elementary School for the 2024 Summer.

Residency Information
All campers are required to be Hastings-on-Hudson village residents or school district residents to qualify for the resident rate. Non-residents are allowed to register for camp if space permits and at a higher rate.

Counselor-Camper Ratio
The camps pride themselves on their very low counselor to camper ratio. The ratio for counselor to child is kept at 1:5 in each group. By keeping the groups at this ratio, it allows for your child to get to know his or her counselor and build a relationship with them, as well as with the other campers in their group.

Immunizations
All campers are required to present documentation that shows the dates of inoculations. If your child is not immunized because of religious beliefs, a letter stating such is required to be kept on file. All immunizations are required to be handed in with the camp application.

Placement in Camp Groups
If you would like your child to be placed in a group with another camper, it must be written on the registration form when submitted. After the groups are made, there can be no changes made. Please limit requests to one camper; we will do our best to honor all requests, but cannot guarantee that all requests will be honored.

Food Requirements
Campers are required to bring their own lunch. It is recommended that a cold pack be included in a knapsack or lunch box so that food does not spoil. Perishable items should be avoided.

Clothing Requirements
Each camper should have a swimsuit and towel with him or her each day. Parents are asked to listen to weather reports and provide campers with appropriate clothing. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Indoor activities are planned for rainy days. Please label everything your child wears or brings to camp.

Emergency Contact Information
All campers are required to have emergency contact other than the parent(s) who can be contacted in an emergency if no contact can be established with the parent(s). The emergency contact is preferred to be a family member who is within a close distance to Hastings-on-Hudson.

Camp Trips
All campers have the opportunity to go on five camp trips each season. Previous trip locations have included LIFE, Sportime USA, White Plains Bowl and more!

If there are any questions regarding any of the summer camps, please contact the camp director, Lisa O'Reilly, at 914-478-2380, ext. 642 or by e-mail.
