Dear Fellow Resident:
I would like to bring to your attention the attached suggestions offered by the American Red Cross to help safeguard your family and property should disaster strike. Unfortunately, with the onset of winter comes the likelihood of severe storms, which may result in power outages. We need to be as ready as possible for bad weather over the next several months.
As a reminder, if you lose power at your home, please contact ConEd directly to inform them of your situation. Calling the police station will only delay restoration efforts, and the Company has advised us that their customers should call them directly. They can be reached at 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). Do not assume your neighbors have called or that ConEd is already aware of the utility outage.
Also, during snowplowing and ice removal operations, we request that you kindly remove your parked vehicle(s) from the street. Your cooperation in this matter will facilitate the Department of Public Works efforts to clear the streets rapidly.
Thank you.
