FRANCIS A. FROBEL BIOGRAPHY
Francis A. Frobel was appointed Village Manager effective August 1, 2005. For a few weeks prior to his official appointment he served as temporary Village Manager. He is responsible to the Mayor and Board of Trustees for the day to day management and operation of the Village. He also works closely with the Mayor and Trustees helping them formulate objectives, policies and programs.
Prior to his position in Hastings-on-Hudson he served as Town Manager of Coventry, Rhode Island for nineteen years. Before that assignment he served as Assistant Town Manager in Killingly, Connecticut for nearly eight years. He is a graduate of the University of Hartford, Connecticut, receiving an MPA Degree in 1976 and his BA from Central Connecticut State University in 1975.
Fran Frobel is an ICMA Credential Manager. He has served as an officer in the Rhode Island City Manager's Association and on several ICMA National Committees. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Rhode Island Local Official Award. He is also a member of the Government Financial Officers Association, American Society for Public Administration and the International Personnel Management Association. Fran has served on the Executive Board of Directors of the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns and as a Trustee of the Rhode Island Interlocal Insurance Trust. He served as a Sergeant in the Connecticut Army National Guard from 1971-1978.
Fran is married to Laura Frobel, MSW, a medical social worker at the Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Their son Christopher is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and Louisiana State University. He is currently employed with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Their daughter Elizabeth, a graduateof Arizona State University earned her degree in early childhood teaching.
The Frobels live at 11 Nepperhan Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson.
