Building Department
The Building Department is responsible for verifying the the soundness and legality of existing structures. The Building Department verifies that all structures to be built conforms to New York State Uniform Building and Fire Code.
If you are planning construction, repair work or general face-lifting of your property, please consult the Building Department to see if a building permit is required. This will avoid problems if you plan to sell or refinance your property at a later date.
