Due to the inclement weather, all senior programs are cancelled for today, including Senior Sneakers and the Current Events Discussion Group, and the senior bus will not be running today.
As a reminder, all Hillside afterschool classes and the All-Star Sports class are cancelled for today due to the early dismissal of schools.

The Hastings-on-Hudson School District
Due to the present forecast for tomorrow, Tuesday - January 21,  which is calling for heavy snow to begin in the early afternoon we are planning  for an early dismissal.  Hastings High School will dismiss at  11:45 AM, Farragut Middle School at 11:45 AM, and Hillside Elementary School for kindergarten at 11 AM and grades 1 thru 4 at 11:55 AM.  Please be sure your children are aware of the plans you have in place for an early dismissal. Also, all afterschool activities will be cancelled.


REMINDER TO ALL RESIDENTS:   

It is the responsibility of all home/business owners to have sidewalks in front of their property free and clear of snow and ice within 12 hours of the ending of the winter event.  When sidewalks are not clear, pedestrians are forced to walk in the roadway, making the situation all the more hazardous. it is the responsibility of all home/business owners to do the same. The Hastings on Hudson Police Department will be forced to issue summons if this law is not followed!!!

Please do not blow or shovel snow onto other people's property or onto their parked cars.  

Do not shovel or blow snow onto the streets.

Whenever possible please park your vehicles off of streets to allow for better plowing.

If you live near a Fire Hydrant please shovel it out in case of emergencies

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 6 TO 10 INCHES.
* WINDS...NORTH 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
* WIND CHILLS...AS LOW AS 10 BELOW ZERO LATE TONIGHT.
* TEMPERATURES...HIGHS IN THE UPPER TEENS TO LOWER 20S THIS
 MORNING...DROPPING INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS TONIGHT.
* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES LATE THIS
 AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT.
* TIMING...SNOWFALL WILL BEGIN LATE TUESDAY MORNING AND WILL
 CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT...TAPERING OFF EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.
 THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO
 TONIGHT.
* IMPACTS...FALLING...BLOWING...AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL CAUSE
 HAZARDOUS TRAVEL AND WALKING CONDITIONS ACROSS THE AREA...
 POSSIBLY IMPACTING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING COMMUTE.
 PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO FRIGID COLD AND LOW WIND CHILLS COULD
 CAUSE FROST BITE. DRESS APPROPRIATELY.
