The Hastings Department of Public Works asks whenever possible that cars be parked of streets to allow for better street blowing and when shoveling please do not shovel snow in to roadways.
The Hastings Fire Department asks the if at all possible that residents clear Hydrants of snow near their homes.
Metro-North will operate on a Saturday schedule on Friday, Jan. 3, without Shoppers’ Specials service due to the effects of winter storm Hercules. Use caution when entering and exiting trains, and while on platforms and staircases.
Bee-Line buses and Paratransit vehicles will start service when weather conditions permit safe operations.

LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.
* WINDS...NORTH 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.
* WIND CHILLS...FROM FIVE BELOW ZERO TO AROUND 15 BELOW ZERO THIS
MORNING...INCREASING TO AROUND ZERO THIS AFTERNOON. THE LOWEST
VALUES WILL BE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY.
* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.
* TEMPERATURES...6 TO 16 ABOVE.
* TIMING...THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL BE INTO THE MORNING RUSH
HOUR. THE LOWEST WIND CHILLS AND VISIBILITIES WILL BE THROUGH
* IMPACTS...HEAVY SNOWFALL...AND BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF POWDERY
SNOW...MAINLY THIS MORNING...WILL CREATE DANGEROUS TRAVEL
CONDITIONS AND COULD IMPACT SNOW PLOWING OPERATIONS. WIND CHILLS
BELOW ZERO COULD LEAD TO FROSTBITE OR HYPOTHERMIA FOR ANYONE
EXPOSED TO THE COLD. WIND CHILLS 15 BELOW OR COLDER WILL LEAD TO
AN EVEN MORE RAPID ONSET OF HYPOTHERMIA.
A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE FORECAST
THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF
YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD... AND WATER IN
