SPECIAL ELECTION

There will be a Special Election on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 to fill a vacant seat on the Westchester County Board of Legislators  Voting will be in your regular polling place:  the Community Center (Districts 18, 19, 22, 59), Andrus-on-Hudson (20), Protection Fire House (21), River Manor Fire House (23), and Uniontown Fire House (52).  Polls will be open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The candidates are MaryJane Shimsky, Democrat; and Nicholas  DeCicco, Republican.  

At this date, absentee ballots are available in person only at the Westchester County Board of Elections, 25 Quarropas Street, White Plains, NY 10601 (914-995-5700).  You can go to the Board of Elections, fill out the application, and receive your ballot.  If you want a designee to pick up a ballot for you, the application can be downloaded here  www.westchestergov.com/boe  . Your designee can take your application to the Board of Elections and receive your ballot.  Completed ballots must be postmarked by February 14 or delivered in person by February 15.  

The seat was vacated when Tom Abinanti was elected to the New York State Assembly in November.  County Legislative District 12 includes Hastings, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Ardsley, and part of the Town of Greenburgh.
