Dear Hillside Ave Resident,
In an effort to remove the existing snow which has been accumulating on Hillside Ave and to widen the road to make it more passable for motorists and pedestrians, the Village and School district have agreed to the following plan;
There will be “No Parking” on Hillside Ave from 7pm Sunday night, February 6th, until 7am on Monday morning, February 7th. The Hastings DPW will remove as much snow as possible during the early morning hours, and parking will once again be allowed.
The Hastings on Hudson Police Department is asking all residents who have driveways and can parked their vehicles in their driveways to do so that night. If you do not have a driveway or if your driveway is unusable, Superintendent of Schools Timothy Connors has agreed to allow residents to park in the school parking lot/playground during the above mentioned hours. All residents who take advantage of this option must have their vehicle removed from the parking lot by 7am Monday morning, February 7th. Parking is also available on a first come-first served basis on School St. or Rosedale Ave for residents who may prefer those options.
We can all agree that this winter, with the snowfall accumulation of 57 inches to date (usual average less than 25 inches during a typical winter) has been onerous. However, cooperation between the School, Village and public can help make the area safer for all involved.
If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 478-2344. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
David M. Bloomer
