The senior citizen program will be offered on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 1:15 pm at the James Harmon Community Center (on the lower level). Marie-Claude Giroux will conduct a memory/writing book making workshop. Participants will create a one of a kind book based on a personal memory of home. Participants should bring photographs, letters from loved ones and pictures of “home.” Please call Anne Russak, Senior Advocate at 478-2380 ext. 644 to register.

This is a FREE workshop for 5th-8th Graders
on Thursday, January 20, 2011
Program starts at 3:30PM at the Lower Level of the Community Center
Participants will create a one of a kind book based on a hopes and dreams.
Participants will learn how to make a folded accordion book that will
be used as a vehicle for aspirations, memories or a story.
She will guide participants on a few exercises to loosen up and have fun - play with poetry, images and found text.
Participants are encouraged to bring photographs, letters from loved
ones or any paper ephemera they have at home.
We will use collage, text and mark making to depict our memories.
The workshop will include hands-on instruction and work time.
Each participant will create a one of a kind book.
