POWER OUTAGE AND STORM UPDATE
WIND AND RAIN STORM UPDATE

Several homes throughout the Village are without power as a result of the wind/rain storm which impacted the area early this afternoon. Approximately 50 customers presently are without power  in the area of Scenic Dr., Floral Dr.,Forest Ave. and Oakdale Dr. These outages are the result of a tree located on private property on Forest Drive which came down during the wind storm. Con Edison crews arrived on the scene at approximately 4 PM this afternoon. Their job is to be certain that the power lines are dead so that tree crews can remove the trees from the downed wires, permitting the electrical crew to return to the area and restore power. It appears one pole needs to be replaced and the second one reset. Presently there is no estimated time in which power will be restored. This work will take several hours to complete. We have been informed by the Company that crews will work throughout the evening. Other sections of the Village may lose power as a result of this work while electricity is rerouted.

Presently there are approximately 5000 customers without power in our area.

Everyone is advised do not approach any downed wire.

Individual homeowners must contact Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633) or online  http://www.coned.com/sm/default.asp and notify the Company of your home or business power outage. Calling the Hastings Police Department or DPW will only delay restoration of electrical power to your home.
