Hastings Historical Society Moonwatch and Open House - Saturday, October 16th
On Saturday, October 16 the Hastings Historical Society, 407 Broadway, will be open from noon until 4 p. m. Come see our exhibit, "A Story of a Village: Hastings Maps from 1600 to the Present." At 2 p.m., astronomers will present an analysis of the Draper telescope parts. A MoonWatch will be held in Draper Park at 7:0 p.m. There will be large telescopes or use your on. Flashlights are recommended. Both events are free.

On Saturday, October 16th, the Hastings Historical Society will be open from noon until 4PM. Come see our exhibition entitled "A Story of a Village: Hastings Maps from 1600 to the Present.
In our current exhibit, we share a selection of 27 maps from our collection, showing the geographical history of our village from 1779 (“Sketch of the Road from Knightsbridge to White Plains”) to 2003 (“Trailways Map of Hastings-on-Hudson”). Highlights include a 1932 “Historical Map of the Westchester County” by Hastings cartographer John P. Davies and three maps from a 1889 insurance atlas of Greenburgh.

The cottage is open this summer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and by appointment. Stop by for a visit!


At 2PM astronomers will present an analysis of the Draper telescope parts here at the cottage.

At 7:30PM there will be a MOONWATCH in Draper Park, 407 Broadway. Large telescopes will be available, or you may bring your own. There are no lights in Draper Park, so flashlights are recommended.
