Hastings Cub & Boy Scout Registration - Monday, September 13, 2010 at 7pm
Hastings Cub Scout and Boy Scout Registration

Pack 1 (the Cub Scouts) and Troop 2 (the Boy Scouts) will have an Open Registration on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 7:00pm at the First Reformed Church.

Come and see what Scouting today is all about – Your boys will have fun and build friendships with fellow scouts, while enjoying time-proven, age-appropriate programs.  Everything in Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things.  Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness.

Cub Scouts are for boys in the 1st to 5th grades.  Boys meet regularly in grade-level adult-led “dens”.  They also join with their families and the whole “pack” of dens for camping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, community service projects, and more.

In the Boy Scout troop (young men 11 – 17) the boys run their own meetings and plan outdoor activities with adult supervision and guidance.  While the traditional program still focuses on camping, orienteering, first aid, etc., the BSA continues to evolve in today's tech-savvy world.  For example, 121 merit badge activities in computers, engineering, outdoor sports, the arts and more are available.

Find out more at the Open Registration, or alternate ways to register by contacting our Pack Committee Chair Richard Saunderson at email Pack1@SaundersonLee.com, or our Troop Committee Chair, Cecilia Gallagher at email clgpt@aol.com.
