All Outdoor Activities are Canceled
Hastings Friday Night Live -- September 3
Due to the tropical storm forecast for tomorrow, all outdoor activities for the September 3rd Friday Night Live, Hastings Harvest, are canceled. The Common Ground Downtown Concert, featuring Guy Davis at 8:30 PM at the James Harmon Community Center WILL take place. Come ride out the storm with us and enjoy the music, as well as wine, beer, and desserts. Local restaurants will also be featuring specials, so bring an umbrella and make a night of it in downtown Hastings! --- Save the date for our next Friday Night Live -- A Musical Celebration -- on October 1.
A note from Common Ground about the Guy Davis Show:
"The last time Guy Davis played a show in Hastings (at the First Unitarian Society's Common Ground Coffeehouse), a nor'easter blew through the area, beginning half an hour before showtime. Jackson Avenue flooded and was closed in one direction. Even parts of 287 were under 4 feet of water. But somehow, nearly 100 people show up. Thus, Guy's Common Ground Downtown show at the community center is DEFINITELY ON. Current forecasts for Friday at 8pm when doors open show the weather starting to clear up from earlier in the evening, with a 50 percent chance that rain showers may even have stopped. Hope to see you at the Community Center at 8:30pm for what is sure to be a great show!
