We are coming to the end of a long and diligent effort to create a plan for our Village's future and we want your input. For three years, the Village-appointed Comprehensive Plan Committee has worked, with extensive community involvement, to prepare a draft Comprehensive Plan. This plan seeks to protect the Village’s quality of life, to promote the downtown, to support fiscally responsible and sustainable (re)development and protect Village’s natural resources and environmental quality. Thousands of collective hours of work later, it is now ready in draft form. It's not short - but it is remarkable in its thoughtfulness and detailed suggestions. be inspired by its vision and challenged by its ideas.
Want to add any thoughts? Disagree with any ideas? Want to understand more about what the Committee was thinking? Or just express kudos? This is the moment to do so. The Committee is hosting two public discussions where you can weigh in: the first is this Thursday, May 27th, from 7 - 9PM at the Community Center. The second is next Wednesday, June 2nd at the same time and place. Both start with an open house, with informational displays focused on the themes of the plan and proceed to a presentation by the Committee. If you can't attend, any questions or comments you have can be emailed toCPCFeedback@hastingsgov.org. Members of the Comprehensive Plan Committee will be on-hand to answer questions and receive comments.
This is the best opportunity to weigh in on the draft Comprehensive Plan. It will be instrumental in setting the path forward for our Village and therefore deserves your attention and focus. This is your Village's future too - make your voice heard.
