CENSUS UPDATE
The 2010 Census Forms have been mailed out to everyone in Hastings. You may have noticed that the mailing address was "Yonkers, NY 10706", not "Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706." THIS IS NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN. All forms returned from Hastings WILL BE COUNTED AS HASTINGS.
Every form as a bar code particular to that residence. The bar codes were developed by the Census Bureau using GPS to determine the exact geographic coordinates of each and every location. When you return the form, the information will be tagged to your residence by your bar code. Every location within the municipal boundaries of Hastings will be counted as Hastings.
Remember that it is VITALLY IMPORTANT that you complete the form and mail it back. The more people in the Village, the more money the Village receives from the county, state and federal governments. Help us get our fair share of the pie!

It’s safe. Your information is protected by law. The Census Bureau cannot share your personal information with any other agency for any reason.
It’s important. The census determines congressional representation in Washington. New York's voice in Washington depends on the census.
IF YOU MISPLACED YOUR FORM, ANOTHER ONE WILL BE SENT TO YOU IN EARLY APRIL. IF YOU NEVER RECEIVED A FORM, OR HAVE QUESTIONS, A CENSUS WORKER STAFFS A TABLE PART TIME IN THE HASTINGS LIBRARY. CONTACT THE LIBRARY AT 478-3307.
