Dear Resident/ Business Owner,
On Wednesday August 14, 2013 Con Edison began a project to repair a gas line on Warburton Avenue between North St and the Post Office Parking Lot. Unfortunately, during the excavation process the gas pipes have been found to be in need of further repair which will require extending the distance for excavation further south on Warburton Avenue to just before the Protection Engine Fire House. It is hopeful a safe line will be found at this location and there will be no need to continue the project further south on Warburton Avenue.
As a result, beginning Wednesday August 21, 2013 during the excavation process, which will occur Monday thru Friday 8 AM to 3:30 PM the following parking restrictions / road closures will be in place:
• No parking will allowed on southbound side of Warburton Avenue from North St to Protection Engine Company
• Warburton Avenue South bound at North Street will be closed to vehicular traffic. All southbound traffic will be diverted to North Street. Hastings Police Officers will assist large Trucks and Buses south on Warburton Avenue.
• The Post Office Parking Lot will remain OPEN for parking
Once the excavation process is completed and a safe line is found Con Edison will begin the repairing process which will lessen the required parking restrictions and road closures.
Please be advised there is no good time for this type of business interruption. However there is no alternative, the line must be replaced and made safe.
Additionally, Hastings Police Officers will be on site and make every effort to accommodate residents / business owners in the affected area.
Thank you for your understanding
